AICTE and DST Collaborate to Develop UG Textbooks on Quantum Technologies; Faculty Nominations Open Until Feb 7

AICTE Chairman Prof. T G Sitharam has reached out to the directors of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and IISc, urging them to nominate faculty members.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), is undertaking the development of English textbooks on Quantum Technologies for undergraduate (UG) students. This initiative aligns with the National Quantum Mission (NQM) and aims to enhance India's educational resources in the rapidly evolving field of Quantum Technologies.

AICTE Chairman Prof. T G Sitharam has reached out to the directors of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and IISc, urging them to nominate faculty members as authors and reviewers for these textbooks. The textbooks will serve as learning resources for an AICTE-designed minor degree program in Quantum Technologies and will be freely accessible on the e-KUMBH portal (Knowledge Unleashed in Multiple Bharatiya Languages) at https://ekumbh.aicte-india.org.

Key Details of the Initiative:

Scope of Work: Development of textbooks for 11 UG-level courses in Quantum Technologies.

Honorarium: ₹2,00,000 for authors and ₹40,000 for reviewers.

Timeline: The assignment is to be completed by March 31, 2025.

Additional Benefits: Contributors will receive an appreciation certificate from AICTE.

AICTE has urged institutions to encourage faculty participation in this significant initiative. Nominations can be submitted by February 7, 2025, through the link: https://forms.gle/DJEgtijmu2G6oyTPn6 or via the AICTE website at www.aicte-india.org.

This initiative is expected to strengthen India's academic and research ecosystem in Quantum Technologies, supporting the objectives of the National Quantum Mission by fostering outcome-based learning in the field. Institutions are encouraged to take part in this transformative effort to advance Quantum Technologies education in India.
