AICTE has released the Revised Academic 2020. As per the revised academic calendar released by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) the new session for the management colleges that are affiliated to AICTE will start from August 1. The AICTE has released the revised academic calendar to be followed by all the universities, colleges and academic institutions imparting technical and management courses across the country.  This is the first time that the academic session for the existing students will start from August 16. Every year, the classes for existing students use to begin from June 30. However, this year it has been postponed due to coronavirus outbreak in the country.

The teaching process including lateral entry to second-year courses for newly admitted students will start from September 15. The calendar released by the council is in continuation of AICTE's earlier communications where it had announced the initial academic calendar defining dates for academic activities for the Academic Year 2020-21.

However, the Council has once again revised the calendar as per the directives released by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which stated that all the academic institutions, colleges and universities will remain closed until July 30 due to the rising novel coronavirus cases in India.

Classes for engineering, Pharmacy, architecture and other courses will begin from August 16 for existing students, and for the new batch, classes will begin from September 15, as per the latest schedule released by AICTE.

The academic session and teaching process including lateral entry to second-year courses for newly admitted students will begin from September 15. Classes for courses other than PGDM and PGCM will begin from August 15, as per the latest calendar issued by the AICTE.

The AICTE has also directed the colleges to finish the first round of counselling and begin their admission process on or before August 30. The last date upon which the student can be admitted is September 15, 2020. As per the calendar, the admission to open and distance learning courses will start from August 16.
