AKTU to get AICTE-IDEA lab for tech learning soon; Offline semester exams from May 25

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has approved the application made by AKTU for the establishment of the IDEA laboratory.

The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will get an IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation and Application) laboratory soon. The initiative is being taken to give students a hi-tech and latest technology-based learning experience. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has approved the application made by AKTU for the establishment of the IDEA laboratory.

“IDEA labs are being set up in AICTE-approved institutions to encourage students to understand the application of science, technology, engineering and mathematics fundamentals towards enhanced hands-on experience, learning by doing and product visualization,” said AKTU vice-chancellor Professor PK Mishra.

AKTU Offline Semester Exams from May 25

AKTU Semester Exams 2022: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University is all set to conduct semester examinations via offline mode from May 25 to June 15. According to the official information, the AKTU semester examination will be held offline at 117 centres. More than 1.15 lakh students are likely to appear for the exams. To ensure smooth conduct of the exams, the University has decided to appoint two observers at every centre. This step will also ensure 100% transparency at every examination centre.

Meanwhile, the university has also sped up the evaluation of answer copies of the semester examination held in March and April. “Over 1 lakh students will appear for the semester examination in May-end. It will be ensured that strict Covid safety norms are followed at every centre,” vice-chancellor PK Mishra told TOI.

The pandemic had hit the academic session of AKTU but it will be back on track as answer copies of previous semesters are being digitally evaluated at 80 centres, he further added. Around 200 chief examiners have also been appointed.
