BITS Pilani Goa Placements 2023: Computer Science student bags 60L annual package

BITS Pilani Placements: BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa campus student has bagged a salary package of INR 60.8 lakh per annum at the end of the placement season. The Computer science engineering student Ruturaj Godse received the package from the multinational investment management firm, D E Shaw. According to official reports, the package is 35% higher than the highest domestic salary offered last year. Around 280 companies visited and hired from BITS Pilani Goa campus, which is a 4% increase over last year, said Balasubramanian.
BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa campus also saw over 90% of its 926 students who registered for placements being offered jobs this year, said G Balasubramanian, chief placement officer, India and Dubai, BITS Pilani. “Of the students who registered, more than 79 have received salaries of over INR 40 lakh per annum, making this number the highest ever for the campus. The number of students receiving salaries of INR 40 lakh per annum is more than double of the previous years,” Balasubramanian said.
During this placement season, highest domestic salary offered at BITS Pilani Goa has gone up by 35%, the average salary has also seen a nearly 9.4% rise, going from INR 19.2 lakh to INR 20.9 lakh per annum, he said.
“The hiring season at the Goa campus began well during the summer internship pre-placement offers. Over 60% of the interns received a full-time offer, with companies expressing strong satisfaction with the talent. These came from companies such as Google, Microsoft, Uber, D E Shaw, Texas Instruments, Nvidia, and Exxon Mobil, among several others,” said Goa campus placement head R B Mouli.
A large number of offers came from global tech giants, with Amazon offering jobs to 32 students, Uber to 16, Microsoft to 17, Nutanix to 13 and Google to 7, he said. “The average salary in the IT domain went up to INR 27 lakh per annum. The core sector too saw an incredible spike, including Qualcomm offering jobs to 25 students, Texas Instruments to 21, MediaTek to 14, Samsung Semiconductors to 8, Exxon Mobil to 6, Schlumberger to 4, GE India to 3, among others. In fact, even consulting giants such as BCG and McKinsey hired undergraduates from the Goa campus for their front-end consulting profile, and banks such as JP Morgan Chase and Co for their finance roles,” said Balasubramanian.
