The 90-hour online programme will include recorded sessions with assignments and quizzes and additional online Iive handholding sessions.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued a circular to affiliated colleges, universities and institutions regarding the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) offering reskilling, upskilling programmes under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

The objective of the programme is to provide hands-on training to educators using social media platforms. It will help them learn digital tools and techniques which will enhance their productivity. The 90-hour programme will include recorded sessions with assignment and quiz that will be accessible after the payment of the course fee of INR 688. The programme fee is INR 75 and the assessment and certification fee is an additional INR 509 while the effective fee after availing of incentive for digital upskilling is INR 45.

Meanwhile, the University Grants Commission (UGC )and AICTE have warned students that it would not recognise online PhD programmes that are developed by edtech companies in collaboration with foreign institutes or universities. "Such online PhD programmes are not recognised by the UGC. Aspiring students and the public at large, are requested to verify the authenticity of PhD programmes as per UGC Regulation 2016 before taking admission," the notice said.

The UGC notice released by AICTE in October also reaffirmed the UGC laws and their revisions and said universities need to comply with the same when conferring doctoral degrees on their students.
