COMEDK counselling 2024: Over 70% engineering seats remain vacant this year
The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka has concluded the COMEDK counselling 2024 for engineering admissions. As per the reports, a total of over 70% of seats are still vacant in private engineering colleges.
COMEDK UGET Counselling 2024: The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka has concluded the COMEDK counselling 2024 successfully. The authorizes conducted the COMEDK counselling 2024 in three rounds. The counselling was conducted for both general merit and Hyderabad Karnataka merit candidates. Candidates first need to complete the COMEDK registration followed by choice filling, seat allotment and document verification. The authorities conduct COMEDK counselling for the admissions to 30% engineering seats available in private colleges.

As per the reports, a total of over 70% of private engineering seats are still vacant in Karnataka. After the conclusion of COMEDK round 3 counselling 2024, a total of 18726 seats out of 26373 seats are still vacant across various colleges. Last year, a total of 14354 seats were vacant through COMEDK counselling. The total number of students who have been admitted to engineering courses this year is 930 more than the previous year. However, the total number of vacant seats has increased due to the increase in total number of engineering seats this year.
Several colleges have increased the computer science engineering seats this year reducing the seats in core branches like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and others.
KCET Counselling 2024
Karnataka Examination Authority is conducting KCET counselling online. KCET second extended round option entry 2024 is ongoing. KEA will release the KCET 2nd round extended provisional seat allotment on October 7. However, the final seat allotment result will be released on October 8.

- PUC/ 12th standard or equivalent Marks Card: CBSE Candidates should upload marks card which shows Roll Number and School Number and clear QR code/ ISC board candidates should upload marks card which shows Unique ID Number and Index Number and clear QR code. ).
- COMEDK UGET Admit Card (If Applicable/CBSE candidate).
- Improvement or Supplementary Marksheet or any other document (If applicable).
- SC/ST/OBC Certificate. Applicable only if you have scored between 40 to 45% in 12th grade/2nd PUC/Equivalent and are a Domicile of Karnataka.
- Domicile Certificate. Candidates claiming SC/ST/OBC category should upload Karnataka Domicile Certificate.
- HKR Certificate. Candidates claiming HKR seat should upload HKR Certificate. It should be in the name of the candidate issued by the Asst. Commissioner in charge of the Revenue subdivision.
