The Department of Science and Technology (DST) is set to hold the Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign across its various buildings, Autonomous Bodies, and subordinate offices throughout the country. As part of the campaign, DST has planned several activities, including vermicomposting of waste generated at the Department's canteens and office campuses, as well as at Autonomous Institutions and Survey of India offices nationwide.

These efforts aim to manage landfills, reduce pollution, and promote the creation of wealth from waste, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment. Awareness about the campaign has been widely disseminated through various social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The campaign is in full momentum, working towards achieving the targets set by the Department of Science and Technology within the designated timeframe.

As part of the program, preventive health checkups will be conducted for the sanitation workers of DST, and safety gear along with cleanliness tools will be distributed to them. A Swachhata Ranking will also be held among all Autonomous Institutes under DST and the Field Offices of the Survey of India. Additionally, a lecture and awareness session on "Cleanliness and its Impact on Health" will be organised in government schools, where biodegradable items will be distributed to students in schools near Technology Bhawan. Shramdaan activities, including cleaning public spaces such as nearby bus stands, will also be undertaken.

Vigyan Sadan and the DST premises will undergo cleaning, repairs, beautification, and waste disposal. An auction will be held to dispose of unserviceable items from Vigyan Prasar and old papers stored in the reception block of Technology Bhawan. Additionally, provisions will be made to introduce natural lighting in the darker areas of Technology Bhawan. A plantation drive will also take place within Technology Bhawan's premises, and a yoga session will be organised for DST officials to promote health and well-being.

As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, the Secretary of DST will lead officials in taking the Swachhata pledge, fostering awareness and commitment towards achieving a clean, garbage-free India. All 26 Autonomous Bodies and subordinate offices will actively participate in the campaign, celebrating it as a festival of cleanliness.
