Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya Inaugurates 3 New CIPET Centers; Nationwide Presence Doubles

The Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers and Health and Family Welfare Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya virtually inaugurated 3 centres of Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) established in Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh. 

These three new CIPET centres are CSTS Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), CSTS, Ranchi (Jharkhand), and CSTS Gwalior (MP). Over the past decade, the government has doubled the count of Central Institutes of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPETs) from 23 to 47 to cater to the demands of the petrochemical industry.

During his opening speech, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya emphasised the significant role that CIPET holds within the nation. He pointed out that these institutes have adeptly evolved to align with the demands of the 21st century. Furthermore, he highlighted their contribution to the realization of the Aatamnirbhar Bharat vision. 

The Minister also said that by getting training from CIPET, youth almost get 100% of jobs in the petrochemical sector. CIPET was started in 1968 in Chennai as the Central Plastic Engineering and Tool Institution. At that time there were only certificate and diploma courses under CIPET but today the number of courses has increased. Now undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD level courses are also being offered in these institutes.
