DXC Technology Invests in the Future of Women in STEM and Sports

DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC) announced that for the 2023-24 academic year, it has awarded the DXC Progressing Minds Scholarship to 310 female scholars. Out of these, 260 recipients are receiving scholarships for their education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and 50 are being recognised in the field of sports. The scholarship program offers a one-time financial support of INR 50,000 to each woman in the STEM category, and INR 1,25,000 to each female athlete.

The DXC Progressing Minds Scholarship Program is dedicated to promoting inclusivity and empowering young women and transgender students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Furthermore, the program recognises and honours outstanding female athletes who have achieved success at state, national, or international levels.

Elaborating on the success of the program, Lokendra Sethi, Vice-President - Human Resources, India & Global Delivery Network, DXC Technology, stated, "As we are about to celebrate International Women's Day, the response to the DXC Progressing Minds Scholarship Program is truly inspiring. The overwhelming number of applications and the exceptional talent we encountered during the selection process further motivated.”

Launched in partnership with the Buddy4Study India Foundation, the program saw a substantial interest for the 2023–24 academic year, attracting over 10,000 applications from across the country. Through a thorough selection process, 2,260 female candidates were initially shortlisted for STEM, and 425 for sports, based on their accomplishments and qualifications. Following careful document review and interviews, 310 female scholars were ultimately selected to receive the scholarship.

Speaking on the successful implementation of the program, Mr. Ashutosh Burnwal, Founder and CEO at Buddy4Study, expressed, “We are delighted and proud to collaborate with DXC Technology for such a thoughtful and comprehensive initiative like the DXC Progressing Minds Scholarship Program.”
