Education Budget 2024: IITs, NITs, IISERs, IIITs Allocations Unchanged from Interim Budget

IITs, NITs, IISERs, IIITs Allocations Unchanged from Interim Budget
Education Budget 2024: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the Union Budget 2024 announcing that the Centre has allocated INR 1.48 lakh crore for education, employment, and skill development. Regarding the allocation to IITs, IIITs, NITs, IISc, and IISER, the budget remains consistent with the figures shared during the interim budget.
As per the Education Budget 2024, the budget outlay for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) has increased from last fiscal's allocation of INR 9,661.50 crore to INR 10,324.50 crore.
In addition to these two top higher education institutions, the budget expenditure for the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) has also increased from INR 815.40 crore in 2023-24 to INR 918.27 crore in 2024-25.

Allocation for IITs and IIITs in 2024
This year, the IITs have received a budget allocation of INR 10,324.50 crore, marking an increase from the INR 9,661.50 crore allocated in 2023. This time, the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) have been allocated INR 515.91 crore, which is comparatively less than the INR 560 crore allocated in the year 2023.
