Engineering education gets costlier in Telangana

As per the order issued by the government, the fee has been increased to more than INR 1 lakh or above in 40 private colleges. 

The Telangana government has finalised the fee structure for 159 colleges offering BE/BTech courses as per the recommendations of the Admission and Fee Regulation Committee (AFRC).  

As per the order issued by the government, the highest fee for the three-year block period starting from the 2022-23 academic year is fixed for Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT), Gandipet, with INR 1.60 lakh, whereas the minimum fee per annum is fixed at INR 45,000 per annum. During the last-three year block period that concluded in 2021-22, the highest fee was INR1.34 lakh per annum and minimum was INR 35,000 per annum.  

The fee for Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Gandipet, that had received the highest fee of INR 1.34 lakh per annum in the 2021-22 academic year, has been fixed at INR 1.40 lakh per annum. As per the GO issued, the fee has been increased to more than INR 1 lakh or above in 40 private colleges and nine colleges got a minimum fee fixation at INR 45,000 per annum. The fee for CVR College of Engineering has been fixed at INR 1.5 lakh, whereas CBIT, Vardhaman College of Engineering and Vasavi College of Engineering will be allowed to charge INR 1.40 lakh per annum.  

MBA, MCA fees too get dearer 

Besides engineering fee, orders have also been issued for increasing fees for MBA, MCA, and MTech courses. The minimum annual fee for MBA and MCA courses will be INR 27,000 while it is fixed at INR 57,000 for MTech courses.
