Engg admission deadline extended till November 30 in Karnataka
The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) had approached the Supreme Court seeking extension of deadline. The AICTE had earlier set deadline for October 25, 2022, which has now been extended to November 30, 2022.
CN Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Higher Education, Karnataka, has said that the Supreme Court has extended last date of admission for engineering courses till November 30, 2022, as per a The Hindu report. Earlier, the All India council for Technical Education (AICTE) had set deadline for October 25, 2022. However, the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) had approached the Supreme Court seeking extension of deadline. The KEA sought the extension of time citing reasons of delay in the process due to various reasons, including that of CET ranking row, which had entered the court.
Meanwhile, the KEA has also extended deadline for completion of the registration process for UG-NEET 2022. It announced that the last date has been extended till 4pm on October 20. Candidates who have paid fee can submit application details till 11.59pm on October 21. Earlier, the deadline was October 19, 2022. Many parents and students had ended up visiting the KEA office as they were unable to complete the process because of technical issues.
Meanwhile, the high court has stayed further process of counselling and admission to PG-NEET. The KEA said PG counselling has stopped, according to the order. The matter will be heard on October 20 for further consideration.
