Engineers Conclave 2024
The 11th edition of the Engineers Conclave, jointly organised by the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), began today: September 26, 2024, in Hyderabad. This two-day annual event brings together key stakeholders from the defence and engineering sectors to deliberate on critical technological advancements and strategic priorities.
The event, being held at the Defence Research & Development Laboratory (DRDL) of DRDO, brings together engineers, scientists, academicians and industry leaders to discuss emerging technologies & advancements in indigenisation.
The focus of this year’s conclave is centred around two pivotal themes: ‘Additive Manufacturing for Defence Applications’ and ‘Defence Manufacturing Technologies.’ Experts will explore innovative solutions, cutting-edge research, and emerging trends that aim to bolster India's defence capabilities and technological self-reliance. The conclave provides a platform for collaborative discussions, knowledge-sharing, and networking, to advance defence manufacturing and drive the adoption of next-generation technologies.
Inauguration of 11th Engineers Conclave
The conclave was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, along with the Guest of Honour, Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary of the Department of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO. Shri G.A. Srinivasa Murthy, Director of DRDL (Hyderabad), Shri U. Raja Babu, Director General of Missiles and Strategic Systems, and Prof. Indranil Manna, President of INAE, also addressed the gathering during the event.
