Q:   How to calculate GATE 2025 Score?

A:

The exam authority will calculate the GATE score by considering the raw marks secured by candidates in the GATE 2025 result. The raw marks, or actual marks, will be allotted to the candidates after evaluating the answers. The GATE score for the multi-session exam will be calculated by converting the raw marks into the normalised marks for that particular subject. The raw marks will be used for calculating the GATE score based on the qualifying marks. The scorecard will be available to qualified candidates only. Candidates should keep the soft copy of the GATE scorecard safe for future use. To check the GATE 2025 result, candidates need their enrollment ID/email ID, and password. The exam conducting authority will prepare the GATE 2025 result on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the exam Check for more detail: https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/gate-exam-results.

Q:   Can I do MTech in IIT Madras without GATE?

A:

MTech admission at IIT Madras is primarily based on GATE scores, followed by COAP counselling. However, as per the basic eligibility criteria mentioned on the official website of IIT Madras, getting admission at the institute without qualifying for the GATE entrance exam is possible.

For this, candidates must have a BTech degree from one of the IITs, with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10). Such candidates can directly apply for MTech admission through the official IIT Madras website. These applications are then reviewed by the respective departments before taking the final admission decision.
