The three members recommended by the government are Joint Director of Technical Education Byjubai TP, KTU former dean Vrinda V Nair and KTU former syndicate member Satheesh Kumar C.

The government has submitted a panel of three names under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) to Raj Bhavan to replace Ciza Thomas as Vice-Chancellor in-charge of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU).

The three members recommended by the government are Joint Director of Technical Education Byjubai TP, KTU former dean Vrinda V Nair and KTU former syndicate member Satheesh Kumar C.

The Kerala High Court had upheld a single bench order which refused to interfere with appointment of Dr Ciza Thomas as the Vice Chancellor in charge of the AKTU. The bench said that the state could replace Ciza, even before expiry of six months, by following the UGC procedure and suggesting a panel of a minimum of three other names to the Chancellor.
Sources at Raj Bhavan said the governor will seek legal opinion if Ciza is to be removed soon to pave way for the fresh appointments. The term of Ciza, appointed as temporary VC in November last year, ends only in May.  Ciza, senior joint director in the DTE, was given charge of vice-chancellor by the governor on November 3, The New Indian Express reported.
