Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIP University), Delhi, is conducting an online one-week programme for teachers, to help them enhance their skills for imparting online education to the students.

The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) will be conducted from May 10 to May 16. The online programme for teachers is focussed on ‘Design and Development of MOOCs and e-learning technologies'.

GGSIP University in order to train the trainers in the online teaching-learning process and its challenges, especially in the ongoing coronavirus lockdown, has planned the one week programme.

University School of Education, IP University, will organize this week-long programme.

Commenting on this programme, University School of Education, Dhananjay Joshi, the objective of the FDP is to create awareness about MOOCs and various e-learning technologies and train the participants to design, develop and deliver such courses in their respective domains.

“The FDP will also try to address the issues related to the introduction of a plethora of online courses through SWAYAM, as part of the curriculum in universities and colleges across the country,” informed Joshi.

With the coronavirus outbreak in the country, educational institutions have suspended campus learning activities as a preventive step to avoid its spread and have started taking online classes to ensure continuity of the teaching-learning process. Universities are also conducting examinations through online mode, with some also using social media platforms like WhatsApp.
