HP Technical University Approves Dual Degree Programmes, Expanding Academic Horizons

HP Technical University Approves Dual Degree Programmes
HPTU Dual Degree Programmes: The proposal of dual degree programmes in accordance with the National Education Policy, 2020, has been approved by the academic council of Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU). Students can now pursue dual degree programmes: Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology (Btech-Mtech), and Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration (BBA-BBA) in colleges affiliated to the university.
A university spokesperson confirmed this decision, which was reached at the 33rd meeting of the academic council. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Shashi Kumar Dhiman.
PhD Courses To Start Soon
As per PTI reports, the university has decided to start PhD programs in various engineering colleges to promote research in the field of engineering. For this, the academic council has constituted a committee and has given instructions to frame rules in this regard. The academic council also gave its nod to start research centres at Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, Sundernagar and Hydro Engineering College, Bilaspur.
IIT Bombay To Launch Interdisciplinary Dual Degree Programme
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will soon launch the Interdisciplinary Dual Degree Programme (IDDDP) in Quantum Science and Technology. Similar to existing dual degree programs at IIT Bombay, this new programme enables students to earn both a Bachelor's and Master's degree within a five-year span.
