IIIT-A launches joint degree programme for PG, research students
Under this joint degree programme, the postgraduate students will be able to study a part of their course from foreign technical educational institutions and universities. The joint degree will have the name and logo of both institutions.
Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A) has launched a joint degree prorgamme for students pursuing postgraduate and research degrees. institute is starting a joint degree programme wherein in the first phase, PG and research are being added. In the second phase, graduate-level courses will also be added. The students pursuing MTech, MBA or PhD will be able to obtain degree from renowned educational institutions abroad. The
The postgraduate students will be able to study a part of their course from foreign technical educational institutions and universities. The joint degree will have the name and logo of both institutions. This decision was taken in the meeting held recently in the institute.
Director of the institute Professor Mukul Sutavane said that after the implementation of the New National Education Policy (NEP), MoUs have been signed with technical institutions of other countries including USA, France, Germany and Korea, where students of the institute will be able to study while pursuing their joint degree. The process for this has been started with reputed IT and multidisciplinary institutes of India, Asia and Europe. In the new education policy, it has been divided into three categories including teaching-learning, research-intensive and multi-disciplinary institute.
Likewise, Professor Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) State University is also starting a BSc-MSc integrated course which will start from the new academic session in the main campus of the state university. Apart from this, there are preparations to start a BA-MA integrated course in Physical Education subject. In BSc-MSc, students will get two combinations in five subjects. In this five-year course, students will get the option of multiple entry and exit. Preparations are on to take admission in BSc-MSc (Mathematics) and Biology from the next year.
Vice-chancellor Professor Akhilesh Kumar Singh said that these courses will soon be put up for approval in the Executive Council for become operational from the academic session 2024-25.
