IIIT Allahabad Director to continue on post till April 2
IIIT Allahabad Director P Nagabhushan had resigned from the post last month requesting the Union Ministry for Education to relieve him from service by February 18, 2022.

Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad Director P Nagabhushan has been asked to continue on the post till April 2, 2022. The IIIT Allahabad Director had resigned from the post last month requesting the Union Ministry for Education to relieve him by February 18, 2022, but he has asked him to continue his service till April 2, 2022.
Nagabhushan’s term as IIIT Allahabad Director is ending on May 19, 2022. He took over as the Director of of the institute on May 19, 2017, for a period of five years. His resignation came after he was chosen as the new Vice-Chancellor of Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology and Research (deemed university), located near Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.
Confirming the development, Nagabhushan said, “A letter has been received by the chairman of the board of governors (BOG) of IIIT Allahabad informing that I should continue to serve as the director of the institute till April 2 and after that I can be relieved any time. Following the letter, I will now continue on the post till that time.”
It is likely that the new regular Director of the institute will get appointed by April as the Centre has already issued advertisement for the post and screening of applicants has also been completed.
IIIT Allahabad to reopen campus in phases from March 1
Meanwhile, IIIT Allahabad is all set to open its campus for offline classes in a phased manner from March 1. Nagabhushan said they have called PhD, MTech and MBA students for offline classes at Jhalwa campus from March 1. “The students will have to bring an acceptance letter from their parents and will also need to execute an undertaking that they will not go back home till the end of the semester to ensure safety of the fellow students and their teachers,” he said.
