IIIT Delhi has invited applications for the post of Senior Data Scientist (Consultant) for a project funded by the Ministry of Rural Development. There is only a single position available. The last date to apply for the opening is December 31, 2023.

The Project Title is Nationwide assessment of water conservation structure impacts on community resilience using geospatial data analysis - Evaluating the impact of artificial lakes, ponds and tanks on local livelihoods across India. The monthly salary will be INR 65,000. 

Essential Qualifications for Senior Data Scientist Post

The following are the mandatory requirements:

The minimum qualification is Masters in Economics/Econometrics/Spatial Statistics/Computational Methods. PhD degree is desirable.

Additionally, web development skills (content API development) are highly desirable.

At least 8 years of experience is preferred in the above domains.

Experience with data scraping, data engineering and warehousing tools such as Python, SQL, Cloud Storage Technologies, GIS and mapping software is necessary.

In addition, the candidate must be aware of spatial data modelling using R.

Experience with standard machine learning techniques like NLP and computer vision is desirable.

Previous experience with computational performance benchmarking is highly desirable.

Good command in English language and report writing skills are highly desirable.

Ability and experience of working in large multidisciplinary teams (especially mixed methods approaches for data analysis).
