M Akhila from Sibyala village in Rayachoti mandal of Annamayya district was a final-year BTech (computer science) student. The reason for the student's extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

A girl student of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Idupulapaya in Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa district allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her hostel room. 

M Akhila from Sibyala village in Rayachoti mandal of Annamayya district was a final-year BTech (computer science) student. The reason for the student's extreme step is yet to be ascertained. The body has been sent for the post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, it is said that the girl took the extreme step after not being allowed to take the exam for not having attendance percentage up to the mark. 

IIIT Idupulapaya Director Sandhya Rani said a total of 150 students were not allowed to appear for the examination after their attendance was not up to mark.  

Meanwhile, a student of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at a hostel of the institute. The police have registered a case and are currently investigating into the matter. The deceased has been identified as Srivan Sunny, a resident of Maharashtra. He was a second-year BTech student at IIT Madras.
