IIIT Hyderabad Partners with AlphaGrep to Establish 'AlphaGrep Quantitative Research Lab'

IIIT Hyderabad has partnered with AlphaGrep to establish the 'AlphaGrep Quantitative Research Lab,' aimed at advancing research in quantitative finance and data science.

The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad has announced a strategic academic collaboration with AlphaGrep, bringing together the expertise of IIIT Hyderabad’s Precog group of researchers. This collaboration focuses on the study, analysis, and development of various aspects of artificial intelligence (AI), including social systems.

The partnership spans several key areas, such as Applied Machine Learning, Responsible and Safe AI, Natural Language Processing, and Social Network Analysis. Through this initiative, Precog aims to develop innovative solutions that not only push the boundaries of AI technology but also contribute to the greater good of society, ensuring that these advancements are ethical and beneficial for all.

As part of this collaboration, AlphaGrep has pledged INR 3.5 crores to support groundbreaking research, skill development, and the practical application of AI/ML in quantitative finance. The initiative, led by Prof. Ponnurangam Kumaraguru PK, Mohit Mutreja, and Hemang Mandalia, aims to facilitate research driven by faculty and students. This effort will promote technical advancements while strengthening the connection between academia and industry, fostering a collaborative environment for innovation.
