IIIT Sri City 5th Convocation Ceremony: 218 students receive degrees
218 graduates from BTech, MS and PhD, programmes in Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City, received their degrees from Subhas Sarkar, Union Minister of State for Education, at the fifth convocation on Saturday.
IIIT Sri City Fifth Convocation Ceremony: Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City, conferred degrees to a total of 218 students during its convocation ceremony. 218 graduates from BTech, MS and PhD, programmes in Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City, received their degrees from Subhas Sarkar, Union Minister of State for Education, at the fifth convocation on Saturday.
In his convocation address, congratulating the graduates and sharing his best wishes, Sarkar appreciated the institute for implementing the practices such as outcome-based education curriculum to develop industry-ready graduates as envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020.
Institute director G Kannabiran said the Board of Governors had approved launch of a 15-year vision and a five-year strategic plan. The Board had constituted a strategic advisory group with experts from the industry, government, academia, civil societies from within the country and abroad for the purpose, he said.
Talking about IIIT Sri City placements and the highest packages received by its students during the recruitment drive, Kannabiran said that the highest annual package offered for a student at the institute was ₹85 lakh this year.
The chairman of the Board of Governors M Balasubrmaniam spoke on the technology trends that were shaping the industry.
Delivering his tackle on the fifth convocation of Indian Institute of Information Technology Sri City (IIIT-S), the State Eductaion Minister quoted famed Telugu poet ‘Karuna Sri’ Jandhyala Papayya Sastry to drive dwelling his level on selfless contribution to the society.
“All rivers flow for others only. Cow gives milk to others. Trees give flowers and fruits to others. What’s better in life than living for others,” the Minister learn out the Telugu poem and later translated the identical. He additionally prompt to them to follow compassion, i.e., imagine in dignity, respect, equality and justice for everybody.
