IIITD Innovation and Incubation Center Moves Notches Ahead with new Drone Innovation Lab Inauguration

The Drone Lab is equipped with cutting-edge tools and resources designed to empower startups in the drone sector.

The IIITD Innovation and Incubation Center (IIITD-IC) achieved a significant milestone last week with the inauguration of its state-of-the-art Drone Innovation Lab (DIL). The event, attended by the Board of Governors of IIIT Delhi and Board of Directors of IIITD-IC, marked the formal launch of this cutting-edge facility that is set to revolutionise the drone research and development landscape.

After the ribbon-cutting by renowned Kiran Karnik, Chairman, BoG, IIITD, the dignitaries interacted actively with the young start-ups in the drone sector currently incubated at IIITD-IC.

“This is a great opportunity for the drone sector start-ups across the country to get incubated at IIITD-IC. Our existing incubation ecosystem, well entrenched with mentors, IIITD’s intellectual & academic expertise, start-up community, industry network, and investors, is now further catapulted to the next orbit through the addition of this new lab.”, said Mr. Naresh Priyadarshi, CEO, IIITD-IC, on the occasion of the inauguration.

The establishment of the DIL was made possible through support and grants from the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (DSIIDC), reflecting their vision to nurture and support startups in the drone industry. This dedicated facility within IIITD-IC is poised to become a hub for drone innovation, providing a conducive environment for startups to flourish.

The dedicated space within the Drone Lab can accommodate up to 16 individuals, adding to the existing incubation capacity of 170+ workstations, and providing an inspiring and collaborative environment for entrepreneurs and innovators to work on cutting-edge drone technologies and other deep-tech applications/areas.
