IIT BHU student molestation: Protest on campus to demand outsiders' ban
Several students and police personnel assembled on the IIT BHU campus after the molestation of a female student on the campus.
The horrible incident occurred at around 2:00 a.m. inside IIT BHU campus where a student was reportedly molested physically. She was molested by the bike-borne men. When she was out of her hostel room with a friend. She was stopped by three bike-borne men who allegedly molested the victim.
After the crime took place on Thursday, hundreds of students held a protest on the campus. They gathered at the Student Activity Center on the IIT-BHU campus and protested. As per the protesting students, outside elements were involved in the incident. The students demanded banning the outsiders from entering the institute campus.
"A student of IIT, BHU has been sexually assaulted in Banaras. Some time ago, in the university campus, a girl student was subjected to forceful and heart-wrenching violence. The brazen attackers have also made a video of the incident. IIT students are protesting against the incident. Are BHU campuses and even top institutions like IITs not safe now? Is it no longer possible for a girl student in the Prime Minister's constituency to walk fearlessly inside her own educational institution? damn," reads a tweet by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, General Secretary, Indian National Congress.

The student said in her complaint that she was separated from her friend by the accused. They forcibly took her to a corner. They then stripped her, made her video and clicked photos. After 15 minutes, the accused let her go and took her phone number.
"While the accused are being traced, some students are demanding that the boundaries of their IIT campus be separated. Apart from this, students have also given a memorandum regarding the smooth functioning of CCTV cameras and electricity," said DCP RS Gautam, as reported by India Today.
The DCP said that any photo or video of the student if posted on social medical, action will be taken. Also, a team has been established to catch the accused.
