The IDY-2024 celebrations at IIT Bombay were further enhanced by the presence of Prof. K. Satya Lakshmi, Director of the National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune, who served as the Chief Guest. In the evening, Yogastha will host their flagship event, β€œThe Yogathon Challenge,” featuring 108 rounds of Surya Namaskar at 5:30 pm. This event marks the culmination of a series of preparatory Surya Namaskar sessions that began two weeks before June 21. On this special occasion, the core members of Team Yogastha, IIT Bombay's dedicated student body, were honored with Yoga Volunteer Certificates from the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

The day started at 6:30 am with a 45-minute Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) drill, a globally renowned yoga program that consistently remains the core of International Day of Yoga celebrations. The Director of IIT Bombay Prof. Shireesh Kedare along with other Deans, Registrar and officials attended the programme at the indoor badminton court of gymkhana on the IIT Bombay campus.

Yogastha and Civil Engineering Association (CEA), IIT Bombay also organised a workshop on "Yoga, Spirituality, and Indian Mysticism" by Prof. Swami Vedajnananda-ji Maharaj on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

The International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2024 series featured diverse workshops on topics such as Surya Namaskar, the sequential flow of stretching, the benefits of stretching before performing asanas, Tratak kriya, Yog Nidra, pranayama techniques and empowering women through yoga with a focus on hormonal balance.

Additionally, Yogastha hosted a five-day yoga camp to guide participants in establishing a weekly yoga routine. These meticulously planned activities made the International Day of Yoga 2024 a memorable and impactful celebration at IIT Bombay.
