IIT Delhi Emerges Victorious in WorldQuant's 2023 International Quant Championship

Nihar Patel and Vaibhav Gupta from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi emerged as the winner of the International Quant Championship 2023 organised by WorldQuant Asset Management. Over 30,000 participants competed from more than 100 countries winning teams represented India, Canada and the U.K. On WorldQuant's BRAIN platform, the three-phase team-oriented quant contest unfolded, engaging 12 teams vying for cash rewards exceeding $100,000.
Number of Teams in International Quant Championship
A total of 12 teams from different countries, including Canada, China, Hungary, India, Malaysia, the U.K., the U.S., Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, and Vietnam, participated in the 2023 IQC finals, the last of the three stages of the competition. Teams with the top scores from the second stage received an exclusive invitation to the Bahamas for a live challenge and presentation, shaping the ultimate winners of the IQC. Judges evaluated participants based on alpha creation, diversification strategy, originality of ideas, selection rationale, and alpha performance.
