IIT Madras Collaborates with CII to Launch Joint Certification Program in Supply Chain Management

IIT Madras has partnered with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to launch a joint certification program in Supply Chain Management, aimed at enhancing professional skills in the field.

The Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is teaming up with the CII Institute of Logistics to relaunch the highly successful 'Supply Chain Management Professional' (SCMPro) certification program. The revamped program will now include insightful video lectures delivered by esteemed IIT Madras faculty.

The SCMPro certification program has successfully trained over 40,000 professionals in the last decade. The CII Institute of Logistics is now enhancing the program by incorporating premier academic expertise into the curriculum. The updated curriculum aims to equip participants with advanced skills and global perspectives in supply chain management, empowering them to thrive in the fast-evolving and competitive industry.

IIT Madras Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMPro) Certification Program

This course is tailored for working professionals in Manufacturing, IT, e-Commerce, Retail, FMCG, and Logistics sectors, as well as students from Engineering, Commerce, Science, or Business Management backgrounds. The program will begin on April 1, 2025, with the registration deadline set for March 31, 2025. The updated course will include:

• 5 modules with 30 hours of video content delivered by IIT Madras faculty
• E-study materials and downloadable transcripts
• Access to moderated discussion forums for participant queries
• Remote-proctored online examinations held on Sundays
• A joint certificate from CII and CODE, IIT Madras, awarded upon successful completion

Highlighting this program, Prof. Andrew Thangaraj, Chair, Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE), IIT Madras, said, "By combining CII's industry insights and IIT Madras' academic rigor, this revamped course will equip participants with the tools to succeed in global and future-ready supply chain careers."

By integrating IIT Madras faculty expertise into this program, we aim to provide participants with a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, equipping them to excel in this field."

To earn the certificate, participants must pass an online exam consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with a duration of 3 hours (180 minutes). A minimum score of 70% (140 out of 200) is required to pass. Participants will have access to the course materials for one year.
