IIT Madras Pravartak Collaborates with VyVoxel International To Launch AR/VR Programming Course

IIT Madras Pravartak has teamed up with VyVoxel to launch an online course focused on AR/VR Programming, designed to equip students with the skills needed to pursue a career in this innovative field. Know details here 

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has joined forces with VyVoxel, a global pioneer in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Mixed Reality (AR/VR/MR) from Santa Clara, USA and Chennai, to introduce an online course in AR/VR Programming. This initiative aims to prepare students for careers at the forefront of technological innovation.

This comprehensive 60-hour online program is open for enrollment until March 31, 2024, with the inaugural batch set to start on April 1, 2024. The online format of the course allows for unlimited student participation in each batch. It combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on programming practice, utilizing popular tools like Unity 3D, Vuforia, and the XR Interaction Kit. Participants learn to create and deploy AR and VR apps across various platforms, including smartphones (Android and iOS), tablets, and headsets. The curriculum, crafted by experienced AR and VR experts, includes working on real-world projects to prepare students for immediate entry into this dynamic industry.

The course covers the basics of 3D modelling, marker, and markerless AR, Virtual Reality programming and interaction and its applications in training, manufacturing and field service, programming, user interface design and exposure to applications in various industries such as healthcare, logistics, retail, e-commerce, branding and product launches, architecture etc. 

Developments in this field include the launch of headsets such as the Meta Quest 3, the Apple Vision Pro and several others, besides large-scale adoption of this technology in industries such as automobile, healthcare, retail, architecture, and e-commerce.
