IIT Ropar invites applications for PhD programmes

The last date to apply for PhD programmes at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar is November 8, 2021. 

The IIT Ropar has invited applications for PhD programmes under various categories. Applications are invited for admission in following departments: 

• Biomedical engineering 
• Chemical engineering 
• Civil engineering 
• Computer science and engineering 
• Electrical engineering 
• Mechanical engineering 
• Metallurgical & materials engineering 
• Chemistry, mathematics, physics, humanities & social sciences

The institute offers PhD in various categories – Regular PhD; direct PhD that can be done just after the bachelor’s degree; part-time PhD; external PhD under which research scholars should be sponsored by and employed in industries/research laboratories having R & D facilities and recognised by thw Department of Science and Technology (DST) or IIT Ropar and PMRF (Prime Minister's Research Fellows) PhD in which candidates are selected through a rigorous selection process and their performance is reviewed through a national convention.  

According to the institute, external and part-time applicants can apply for PhD programmes in any discipline throughout the year. Interested candidates are advised to visit iitrpr.ac.in/admissions for more details about PhD programmes.

For GEN/ OBC: INR 200 
For Women/ SC/ ST/ PWD: INR 100 

For MTech 

For GEN/OBC/EWS: INR 500  

For SC/ST/PWD: INR 250  

IIT Ropar offers BTech at undergraduate level, MTech and MSc at postgraduate level and PhD courses across various departments of study.
