The National Testing Agency (NTA) in the first round of JEE Main session had withheld the results of around 50 candidates. According to several media reports, around 8.6 lakh candidates have appeared for JEE Main Exam 2023 for Session 2.

According to the marking scheme followed, students will be awarded 4 marks for every correct answer and a negative marking of -1 will be applicable for every incorrect answer. Unattempted questions or those marked for review will be given zero marks. 

As per NTA regarding the JEE Main Answer Key Challenge, "Challenges made by the candidates will be verified by a panel of Subject Experts. If the challenge of any candidate is found correct, the answer key will be revised and applied in the response of all the candidates accordingly”.

It depends on which IIIT/NIT you are getting according to your rank. In terms of placement, faculties and infrastructure some IIITs are far better than many NITs.

Every year cut off score for IIIT Hyderabad's last closing branch is around 250-260 or 99 percentile, which means a rank of around 1000 will be required for admission.

 According to your percentile, your approximate rank is 66,000. If you have a home state quota, then you will definitely get an NIT.

If the "percentage below or equal to" definition is used, then, yes, we can have 100 percentile. However, if we use the "percentage below" definition, then, no, you cannot have a 100 percentile.

No, percentile and percentage are totally different from each other. The percentile rank of a score is the percentage of scores in its frequency distribution that are equal to or lower than it.

• The percentile is not the same as a percentage.
• JEE Main merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentile scores and not on the raw marks secured by aspirants in the exam.

To compile the final JEE Main 2023 result, the four NTA scores (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and overall score) of the first attempt and the second attempt will be merged for the compilation of results and preparation of the overall Merit List/Ranking.

The JEE Main passing marks 2023 are expected to be 90 for the general category, 78 for EWS, 75 for the OBC-NCL, 54 for SC and 44 for ST.

 NTA is responsible for releasing JEE Main 2023 result along with the percentile score. To determine JEE Main 2022 results and rank list, NTA adopted the process of normalization which was based on percentile calculation.

The rank list of JEE Main 2023 will be prepared by the NTA based on percentile scores and not on the raw marks secured by aspirants in the exam.

 The percentile score will be used to prepare JEE Main merit list.

 To score good marks in JEE Main exam it is very important for candidates to have a good under-standing of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The basics should be strong. The questions are mostly asked from Class 11 and Class 12 curriculum. The candidates must understand the concept behind every topic to use the right formula to solve the questions in JEE Main 2023.

Candidates can appear in JEE Main irrespective of their percentage in class 12. The requirement of percentage is for admission in the institute not for appearing in JEE Mains.

JEE Main rank is prepared by compositing the scores of JEE Main and marks of class XII in the ratio of 60:40. According to it, the scores are arranged in merit.

General Category candidates need to score a minimum of 95 percentile score to get NITs. For reserved category candidates, an 80 percentile score is enough to get NITs. 

It is 99.96 percentile, it's a really good performance and you should be able to get under AIR 100. Any score above 250 in JEE Main is considered a good score. To score well in JEE Main, candidates must have a good understanding of Class 11 and Class 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The scorecard of JEE Main is an important document that will have details about candidates' performance in the exam. JEE Main 2023 result/scorecard will contain the following information:

• Subject-wise NTA scores
• Aggregate NTA scores
• Name of the candidate
• Roll number
• Date of birth
• Parents’ name
• State code of eligibility
• Category and nationality

The following comes into effect when two or more candidates obtain equal percentile scores. The inter-se merit will be determined according to the following rules in case of a tie.

Candidates obtaining a higher Percentile Score in Mathematics will be ranked higher

• If a tie still exists, the candidate with a higher Percentile Score in Physics will be given the higher rank
• If a tie still exists, the candidate obtaining a higher Percentile Score in Chemistry will get the higher rank
• If a tie still exists, candidates older in age will be given a preference

The JEE Main 2023 result will be released separately for each session (June & July 2022). The best score of the two sessions will be taken into consideration for candidates who appeared in both sessions. The merit list will be prepared on the final scores and ranks announced based on the same.
