NCPCR in its letter has stated that 75 percent eligible criteria are unfair for aspirants who took a year drop.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sent a letter to the National Testing Agency (NTA) to consider changing the dates of JEE Main 2023 which is scheduled in January 2023, as one month time is not sufficient for students to prepare and has also requested to look into the demand to reconsider 75 percent eligibility criteria.

Several students and some student organisations are demanding JEE Main 2023 postponement. Yesterday, the All India Student's Union seeking postponement of JEE Mains 2023 exam has submitted a representation to the Ministry of Education.
All India Student's Union (AISU) sharing the information has stated that NCPCR has forwarded their representation to the Chairperson, NTA for consideration on humanitarian grounds in the best interest of children.

In its letter to the Chairperson National Testing Agency regarding rescheduling of JEE Main 2023 Section-1 and removal of 75 percent eligibility criteria, the NCPCR has stated that it has received a complaint from Navneet Kumar, Bihar stating that the dates of JEE Main 2023 were announced one month before the final session-1. In addition, in 2020, four months prior to the exam, NTA finalized and announced the dates of the first session-1.”

“Now, a notice period of one month is not sufficient and it is unjust and unfair for the 2023 aspirants. Further, as mentioned in the complaint, 75 percent eligible criteria are unfair for aspirants who took a year drop,” the letter reads.

The NCPCR letter states that the representation it has received is being forwarded to the NTA for consideration on humanitarian grounds in the best interest of the children.

JEE Mains 2023 Session 1 will be conducted in January 2023, and Session 2 will start in April. JEE Main 2023 will be held on January 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31, 2023, according to the NTA exam calendar.

Aspirants are trending JEEMain2023 in April on Twitter and are demanding the postponement of the January session. Many students have called for the postponement of the JEE Main 2023 January exams because the practical exams for the CBSE board exams along with other board exams will clash with JEE Main 2023.
