NTA has announced some significant changes in the JEE Main 2023 Application Form and Examination. Changes have been made in the application fees for JEE Main as well as in the qualifying marks in Class XII or equivalent to get admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.

The National Testing Authority (NTA) has announced the dates of sessions 1 and 2 of JEE Main 2023 examination on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The registration process for session 1 started on December 15, 2022. Session 1 examination will be conducted in January 2023 and the examination for Session 2 will be held in April 2023.

Candidates must consider the changes introduced by NTA before filling out the JEE Main 2023 application form. All the changes introduced by the examination authority are listed below.

Increase in Registration Fee: There is an increase in the registration fee for the candidates. The table below includes the fee details.

75 % Marks Criteria: The admission to BE, BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs is based on the scores obtained by the candidates in JEE Main 2023. However, the minimum marks requirement in Class XII or equivalent for admission in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs has been increased. The unreserved category candidates should have obtained at least 75% marks in Class XII or equivalent. Candidates from the SC and ST categories must have obtained at least 65% marks in Class XII or equivalent.

Choices in Question Paper: It has been decided by the authority to provide choices in one section of each subject in Paper 1. In Paper 2A and 2B, there will be choices in Part 1. However, there will not be any changes in the total number of questions that have to be attempted for each subject. 25 questions must be attempted from a total of 30 questions in each subject.

UMANG and DigiLocker: The candidates are also given access to platforms like UMANG and DigiLocker. The candidates can download all the required documents from there.

Exam Cities: The JEE Main 2023 exam cities in India have decreased from 514 to 399. However, compared to last year, when there were 13 exam cities abroad, there are now 24.

No Correction Facility: Unlike the previous years, the candidates will not be provided with the correction window to make changes in the already submitted application form. Therefore, the candidates must be extremely careful while filling the details in the application form. The candidates are advised to recheck all the information filled in the application form before submitting it.

The candidates are advised to be aware of all these changes before submitting the JEE Main 2023 application form. The candidates much fill out the application form and submit it separately for both sessions.
