This is a one-time measure applicable only for the year 2023.
• At the time of seat allocation, the OCI/PIO candidates shall be considered for the seats in the OPEN category [ref. decision dated February 03, 2023, passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition (Civil) 891 / 2021]. The OCI/PIO candidates shall be included in the Common Rank List, and/or CRL-PwD list as also for the Female Supernumerary seats, as applicable, subject to qualifying the JEE (Advanced) 2023 [see Clause 22: Rank List]. The OCI/PIO candidates are not entitled to the benefit of reservation under the GEN-EWS, OBC (NCL), SC or ST categories for the allocation of seats. • Candidates who are NOT citizens of India (by birth or naturalized) (but not OCI/PIO candidates) shall be considered as FOREIGN NATIONALS.

The qualifying cut off of JEE Main 2023 comprises the minimum score that JEE Main 2023 aspirants need to secure to be eligible for JEE Advanced for admission into IITs.

The admission cutoffs of JEE Main 2023 is the opening and closing ranks released by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority).

This year, the JEE Main cut-off – minimum marks a student needs to score in order to qualify for JEE Advanced is 90.77 percentile for general category candidates.

NTA declared the JEE Main 2023 Result for Session 2 on April 29, 2023.

IIT Guwahati will release the JEE Advanced 2023 application form for Indian nationals tomorrow, April 30 at 10 am. The JEE Advanced 2023 registration is already open for OCI/PIO and Foreign National Candidates who have NOT participated in JEE (Main) 2023 since April 24. NTA has released the JEE Main 2023 category-wise cutoff for the JEE Advanced 2023 candidates who will be eligible to apply for the exam starting tomorrow.

The steps to apply for JEE Advanced 2023 are as follows:

Step 1: Login with JEE Main credentials: As the first step, every student needs to register through the official website by providing their JEE Main 2023 roll number, password, and security pin.

Step 2: Fill out the JEE Advanced Form: As the second step, Students have to enter various personal details like their name, parents’ name, communication details, address details etc. in the specific columns of JEE Advanced 2023 application form. The details entered in the application form must be accurate as the incorrect details may lead to the cancellation of candidature at later stages.

Step 3: Enter exam centre choices: Students will also need to enter their choices of exam centres while filling out the application form.

Step 4: Upload scanned images: Apart from the details, students will also need to upload scanned images of their passport-size photographs and signature.

Step 5: Pay the application fee: The fee can be paid using online payment modes

Step 6: Print out: After submitting all the details, students must take multiple printouts of the final application form for future requirements

In every session, NTA releases a provisional answer key and provides an opportunity for the candidates to check their answers and raise objections against the given solutions, if any. If any students raise objections in a given period of time, then experts from NTA go through the raised objections and consider or check whether the doubts are correct or not. On this basis, NTA makes the decision on whether or not specific questions will be dropped.

IIT Kanpur signs an MoU with the University of Buffalo. Recently, an MoU was signed between the two for research collaboration in the fields of Biomedicine and Bioengineering.

You have very low chances of getting admission in any of the NITs based on your JEE Main percentile score and category rank. Try for admission in private colleges through state counselling.

If the "percentage below or equal to" definition is used, then, yes, we can have 100 percentile. However, if we use the "percentage below" definition, then, no, you cannot have a 100 percentile.

According to an IIT Bombay expert, it’s difficult to derive an AIR through one’s percentile score. 

Important note:

• The percentile is not the same as a percentage.
• JEE Main merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentile scores and not on the raw marks secured by aspirants in the exam.

To convert JEE Main Percentile into a Rank, following figures are required:

• Your NTA score
• Total number of students who have appeared for the exam
• Percentage of students below or equal to your marks
• Percentage of students above your marks
• Number of students above your marks

Now, the formula to calculate JEE Main Rank from Percentile Score is:

The rank generated will be the probable All India Rank (AIR) you can expect to secure in JEE Main. The actual rank might differ owing to different factors.

The Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recently announced that a new IIT campus will be established in the South Goa. The state government is currently looking for a suitable piece of land for the new campus of the Indian Institute of Technology. 

Minimum marks in JEE Main 2023 to qualify for JEE Advanced will be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) along with the JEE Main 2023 result of session 2. Candidates who score above the minimum marks or JEE Main 2023 cutoff will only be allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced. JEE Main is the screening test for JEE Advanced which is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering courses conducted by IITs. Since last year, the top 2.5 lakh candidates who qualify for JEE Main will be selected to appear for JEE Advanced 2023. 

After the JEE Main 2023 result now successful candidates will have the option to register for the JEE Advanced 2023. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on June 4. Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 pm, and paper 2 is scheduled from 2:30 pm till 5:30 pm on the same day. Registraion will start fron April 30.

JEE Main merit list/rank list will be prepared on the basis of the Percentile scores of the Total Raw Scores. In case, where two or more test takers secure equal Percentile Scores in the exam, the inter-se merit will be determined in the following order:

• Candidates obtaining higher Percentile Score in Mathematics in the Test.
• Candidates obtaining higher Percentile Score in Physics in the Test.
• Candidates obtaining higher Percentile Score in Chemistry in the Test.
• Candidates older in age to be preferred.  

Percentile Score of all the lowest raw scores is different. In this case, the percentile score will depend on the total number of candidates who have taken the examination for their respective sessions.

Admission of students to all the institutes are done on considering General and then category ranks. Students must try to fill their choices keeping in mind the category rank while entering the choices of courses and colleges.

One important thing to note here is that the All India Rank (AIR) of a candidate is actually the CRL or common rank list. However, reserved category candidates have also been allotted ranks as per their categories. So whatever is your CRL rank in JEE Mains, it may climb up in the category-based AIR list. Candidates must be very careful while filling the choices of courses and colleges during JoSAA counselling. They must choose a course or institute as per their AIR and category rank in JEE Main. 

There will be two types of JEE Main 2023 cutoffs - qualifying and admission cutoff. The qualifying cutoff will be announced along with JEE Main result for phase 2 while the admission cutoff will be released during the seat allotment process by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority).

The Category-wise Cut-off of NTA Score for JEE (Advanced) - 2023 based on B.E./B.Tech (Paper 1) will be as follows:

43 candidates have scored in the 100 percentile in the overall merit list based on session 1 and session 2 performance. It is to be noted that out of these 43, only one girl, Ridhi Kamlesh Kumar Maheshwari of Karnataka, secured a cent percentile.

A total of 9,31,334 students had registered for session 2, of whom 8,83,367 appeared in the exam. The overall attendance in the second session was 94.83 percent. In session 1 exams, NTA recorded the highest-ever attendance with 95.8 percent.

No. There is no provision of re-evaluation/re-checking of JEE Main result. NTA does not entertain any correspondence in this regard.

The rank of the candidate in JEE Main is mentioned in the result. The JEE Main result is declared in the form of a scorecard mentioning details of candidates' scores in all three subjects, aggregate score and rank. Candidates need to check their scorecards to rank.

The following factors determine JEE Main cut off (admission/qualifying):

• Number of aspirants who appeared for JEE Main
• The difficulty level of the exam
• Total number of seats available
• Total number of applications received for a particular programme
• The category under which admission is sought

The release of percentile and rank statistics is dependent on various factors such as the number of registered candidates, the number of questions on the exam, the difficulty level of the exam, and trends from previous years' marks and ranks in JEE Main.

As far as cutoffs of NITs are concerned, if you want admission to the top 10 NITs, then your rank should be less than 20,000 in JEE Main.

Mrunal Srikanth has secured 300 out of 300 marks and All India Rank 3 in JEE Mains April with a 100 percentile. Mrunak secured 98.4 percent marks in 10th class. According to him, he prepared and followed the guidelines of the teachers at ALLEN and also studied the study material properly, focusing on the NCERT syllabus for JEE Main.

Both IITs and NITs are extremely good at providing education but at the same time, IITs have an edge because of their high standard of studies.

JEE Main Percentile Score is the score based on the relative performance of candidates who have appeared for the JEE Main entrance exam and it is not the same as the percentage of marks secured.

Admission to BTech programmes in NITs is completely based on qualifying JEE Main. There are no minimum marks criteria for allocation of All India Ranks (AIRs) in JEE Main Exam.

Engineering aspirants need to apply for JEE Main, a national-level engineering entrance test conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency), for admission to BTech programmes offered by NITs. Successful candidates need to register for JoSAA Counselling to take part in the seat allotment process. Only successful candidates scoring above JEE Main cut off scores are offered admission.

The National Testing Agency will calculate JEE Main 2023 Percentile Score through the Normalisation Process.

• JEE Main percentile score is the normalized score for the exam and not the raw marks of the test taker.
• The percentile score specifies the percentage of candidates who have scored equal to below (raw scores) a particular percentile in JEE Main. Thus, the topper of each session of JEE Main will get the same percentile i.e. 100.
• Percentiles will also be calculated and converted for marks obtained in between the highest and lowest scores
• The percentile score will be used to prepare JEE Main merit list
• The percentile scores for JEE Main will be calculated up to 7 decimal places to reduce tie-breaking scenarios and avoid the bunching effect
• The overall percentile is not the aggregate of the percentile of the individual subject

CRL in JEE is the Common Rank List which has the ranks of all students who appeared in JEE Mains.

All the highest raw scores will have a normalised Percentile Score of 100 for their respective session. This means, that the highest raw scores secured by candidates would be normalised to a 100 Percentile Score for their respective session. 

It is the practice of comparing candidates' scores who appeared in different shifts of the exam. The normalization process will be similar to the ones currently being adopted for other national level competitive exams like CAT.  The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the JEE Main 2023 result in the form of percentile score. NTA uses the normalization formula to calculate the JEE Main percentile score of candidates. To determine JEE Main 2023 results and rank list, NTA adopt the process of normalization which is based on percentile calculation. The rank list of JEE Main 2023 will be prepared by the NTA based on percentile scores and not on the raw marks secured by aspirants in the exam.

Percentile Score = 100 x (No. of students who secured a score equal to or less than the student) / (Total number of students who appeared in that session of a particular exam).

A candidate who scored 91 - 100 marks out of the total 300 in JEE Mains 2023 session 2 exams are expected to get a rank between 46,076 - 36,253.

The JEE Mains 2023 result of the candidates who used unfair means in the exam will be cancelled and will not be declared. Similarly, the result of those candidates who appear from the exam centre other than the one allotted to them or allow another person to write the JEE exam on their behalf will be cancelled, the NTA had informed.
