JEE Main 2024: After the conduction of the day 1 exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a notice that one case of impersonation and nine cases of unfair means were caught by using remote AI technology to match biometrics. This time, NTA has implemented artificial intelligence tools, such as iFace, to confirm candidate identities. This is done by comparing the photo on the JEE Main 2024 admit card with a live photograph taken at the examination centre, alongside mandatory frisking, and electronic Know Your Customer (EKYC) processes.
According to TOI, a case of impersonation was detected in a centre in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, while nine cases of unfair means have been reported from centres in MP, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Odisha, UP and Rajasthan.
NTA's Strict Measures Against Cheating
A complete strategy was prepared for conducting the JEE Main Session 2 examination. Control rooms dedicated to stringent surveillance and oversight were established at NTA in New Delhi. Virtual observers meticulously watched live video feeds from cameras installed in every exam room/lab, generating immediate alerts based on their observations.
