JEE Main 2025 April Session: Candidates who appeared in the January Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main session are facing difficulties re-registering for the April session. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not provided options to update crucial details in the online form, such as city preferences and personal information, including reserved category status.

As per updates, candidates who applied under the general category in January due to the unavailability of their reserved category certificates are now unable to update their status, even though they possess the necessary documents.

JEE Main 2025 April Registration

Registration for the second session of JEE Main in April opened on February 1 and will close on February 25. According to the official notification, existing candidates can select their preferred course (paper), change the medium of the question paper, choose exam cities, and make the fee payment. However, the inability to update personal details remains a significant issue. JEE Main is conducted twice a year, and candidates can appear for both sessions. The better of the two scores is considered for the final ranking.

JEE Main 2025 Application Glitches

Candidates can check the common issues faced by the aspirants while filling JEE Main April session application form 2025:

  • Candidate's Concern: "I applied under the general category earlier because my OBC certificate wasn't ready. I assumed I could update it in the second session, but now there's no option for that," said a candidate who appeared in the January session and is now registering for the April session.
  • Reduced Exam Cities: Candidates have raised concerns about the National Testing Agency (NTA) reducing the number of JEE (Main) exam cities in India from 300 last year to 284 this year. Additionally, international exam centres have dropped from 24 to 14.
  • State of Eligibility Issue: Another issue highlighted by candidates is the inability to change their "state of eligibility." Many aspirants who registered from a different state in January chose centres near their coaching institute rather than their home state, potentially affecting their chances of availing the home state quota.
  • NTA's Response: The NTA Director General did not respond to requests for comment. However, a source within NTA acknowledged the situation, stating, "We still have thousands of unresolved complaints from the January session."
