JEE Main 2025 Exam Starts Tomorrow: Check List of Items to Carry and Prohibited in Exam Centre
JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam will commence tomorrow, January 22. Candidates can check the list of items that they need to carry while going for JEE Main session 1 exam.
JEE Main 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 1 from tomorrow: January 22, 2025, in two shifts. As per the schedule, the JEE Main shift 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 pm and shift 2 from 3 to 6 pm. JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 will be held on January 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29, 2025, while paper 2 will take place on January 30, 2025.
While going for the exam, candidates should go through a mandatory verification process where their JEE Main 2025 session 1 admit card and ID proof will be checked. It is advisable to keep these documents handy for quick access. To ensure a smooth and stress-free experience on exam day, they must be aware of the essential items they must carry and those that are strictly prohibited at the exam centre.
List of Items to Carry to JEE Main 2025 Exam Centre

JEE Main Admit Card (Mandatory)
The most important document for entry into the exam hall is the JEE Main 2025 admit card. Candidates should ensure that the admit card is downloaded from the official NTA website and printed clearly. The admit card will contain essential details such as the exam date, centre address, candidate’s roll number, and more.
Valid Photo ID Proof
Along with the admit card, candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID proof for identity verification. Acceptable documents include:
- Aadhar Card
- Voter ID
- Passport
- Driving License
- PAN Card
Passport-sized Photograph
Candidates are required to bring a passport-sized photograph (same as the one uploaded in the JEE Main application form) for submission at the exam centre, if requested.
Ballpoint Pen
JEE Main exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode for the drawing sections in certain papers. Candidates must carry their own ballpoint pen (preferably blue or black ink) for writing the exam.
Transparent Water Bottle
Candidates are allowed to bring a transparent water bottle to stay hydrated during the exam. The bottle should be plain, with no labels or markings.
A Transparent Folder/Clutch Bag
A transparent folder or clutch bag can be carried for organizing documents like the admit card and ID proof. It should not contain any electronic items or prohibited objects.
List of Items Prohibited in JEE Main Exam Centre 2025
To maintain the integrity and smooth conduct of the exam, the following items are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall:
Electronic Devices
All electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, and any other communication devices, are prohibited. Candidates should ensure that they leave these devices in a safe place before entering the exam centre.
Study Materials/Notes
Any form of study material, books, notes, or printed papers are not allowed inside the examination hall. This includes any notes or information related to the exam syllabus.
Bags and Purses
Candidates are not permitted to carry bags, purses, or any unnecessary items into the exam hall. It is best to keep such items in a safe place outside the exam centre.
Food Items
Except for a transparent water bottle, no food or snacks are allowed inside the JEE Main exam hall. This ensures that there are no disturbances during the exam.
Stationery Items (Other Than Pen)
Items such as pencils, erasers, highlighters, rulers, or any other stationery other than the required pen (blue or black ballpoint) are not allowed in the examination hall.
Personal Items and Jewellery
Candidates are advised not to wear jewellery, watches, or any other accessories as they may need to be removed during the security check.
JEE Main 2025 Exam Day Guidelines
- Reporting Time: Candidates must arrive at the exam centre at least 2 hours before the scheduled exam time to avoid last-minute stress and ensure a timely check-in.
- Dress Code: It is advisable to wear light and simple clothing. Avoid wearing clothes with large buttons, zips, or pockets as they may be checked during the security procedure.
