The JEE Main paper on 22nd January 22, was of Easy to Moderate difficulty overall. Chemistry and Physics sections were relatively easy, while the Mathematics section was slightly lengthy and calculative. A detailed subject-wise analysis is provided below:

Physics

Many students found the Physics section easy. Topics such as Mechanics, Current Electricity, Optics, Modern Physics, and Waves were well-represented. However, questions from AC, EMI, and Magnetism were notably absent. The inclusion of some PYQs (previous year questions) provided familiarity for prepared students.

Chemistry

For many students, Mathematics appeared time-consuming, but balanced in coverage.

Difficulty Level Summary

According to student feedback, the difficulty level across sections can be ranked as: Mathematics > Physics > Chemistry.

Despite the challenges in Mathematics, the paper was balanced and could be completed within the stipulated time with proper preparation.

The shift 2 of JEE Main 2025 January 22 exam has begun. The shift 2 exam will end at 6 pm. The next JEE Main 2025 exam will be held tomorrow, January 23.

A few candidates from the JEE Main 2025 exam centre at Kota rated the the Physics part of the question paper as moderate, maths was easy but lengthy and the chemistry section was easy. Overall, they found the paper moderate.

The JEE Main 2025 question papers being released today are the unofficial question papers based on the memory of the candidates who took the exam today. However, the official JEE Main 2025 question paper will be made available by NTA on the official website of JEE Main 2025 after the session 1 exams are over. Along with the question paper, the responses of the candidates will be also published on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in), under the respective candidate logins.

As per the initial students reaction. Chemistry was very easy and Organic and Physical chemistry carried more weightage in the paper.

As per the candidates who took the exam today in shift 1, candidates felt that the exam was very similar in difficulty level when compared to previous year's January 27 exam.

As per the initial student reaction after JEE Main 2025 Jan 22 shift 1 exam, Maths was lengthy. Physics and chemistry were easy to moderate. Overall paper was similar to last year's January 27 shift paper.

The shift 2 exam scheduled for today will start at 3 pm and will end at 6 pm. JEE Main 2025 January 22 shift 1 exam will end at 12 noon.

Following the JEE Main 2025 January 22 shift 1 exam, the student reaction, analysis, expected cutoff and memory-based question paper solution will be published by the experts soon.

JEE Main 2025 January 22 answer key and memory based question paper solutions will be available after shift 1 exam is over at 12 noon. The same for shift 2 will be available after 6 pm today.

JEE Main 2025 January 22 shift 1 exam will end at 12 noon.

NTA has announced the JEE Main 2025 Result date session 1. As per the schedule, NTA will declare the JEE Main Result 2025 by February 12. Candidates need to use the JEE Mains Result login at jeemain.nta.nic.in using their application number and password/date of birth to check their JEE Main session 1 result 2025. Along with the result, NTA will also announce the percentile score of candidates in each subject and in aggregate.

The NTA will announce JEE Main 2025 cutoff along with the declaration of the result of the session 2 (April) exam. JEE Main cutoff 2025 is the minimum score a candidate should have to qualify for the JEE Advanced 2025.

The application form for the JEE Main 2025 April session will commence from January 31 onwards.

The JEE Main 2025 dress code has not been officially specified NTA. However, candidates must follow some guidelines on their own to have a problem-free checking process at the JEE Main exam centres. Some guidelines that the candidates can follows are:

What to wear:

• Wear simple, plain and comfortable clothes to avoid undergoing exhaustive checking.
• Try wearing half-sleeved clothes that are light and do not have many drapes.
• Complicated hairstyles or clothing will lead to a longer frisking session.
• If you wear any religious attire please reach out before the time for thorough frisking.

What not to wear:

• Avoid wearing clothes that have metal attached to them (underwired bras, belts etc).
• Avoid wearing any kind of jewellery or other accessories.
• Do not wear long-sleeved clothes or attires/trousers with too many pockets/deep pockets.
• Do not wear shoes with thick soles. Candidates wearing shoes have to face longer frisking/checking procedures. Wear sandals/slippers.
• Do not wear garments with large buttons.
• Do not wear fancy stoles, scarves, watches, sunglasses etc.

NTA has issued the JEE Main 2025 session 1 admit card for exams to be held on January 22, 23 and 24. However, NTA is yet to upload the JEE Main admit card for exams to be held on January 28, 29 and 30. However, the candidates who have their exams on January 28, 29 and 30 will be issued the admit card soon. JEE Main hall ticket download link 2025 will be active on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in for the January 28, 29 and 30 exams. Candidates can login using their application number and date of birth to download the admit card.

The official website for JEE Main 2025 is jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates who have exams in upcoming shifts and days must download their JEE Main admit card. No candidate will be allowed entry to the exam hall without the hall ticket. JEE main hall ticket can be downloaded from the official website under the login. As per the guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA), students appearing for JEE Main 2025 exams are required to carry their self-declaration form on the day of the exam along with other necessary documents. JEE Main 2025 January 22 shift 2 exam will start at 3 pm.

• For correct answers, candidates will be awarded four marks.

• For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.

• If a candidate doesn’t attempt a question, that question will not be evaluated and the candidate will secure zero marks for that particular question.

• Based on this marking scheme, candidates can calculate and get a rough estimate of the total marks they will be securing in JEE Main.

NTA is expected to release the JEE Mains 2025 Answer Key on February 2. Along with the answer key, NTA will also release the JEE Main Response Sheet 2025 and JEE Main 2025 Question Paper PDF on February 1. 

The JEE Main January 22, 2025 shift 1 exam has started. The gates of the exam centres are now closed for entry. The shift 1 exam will end at 12 noon.

• Revise all the formulas in physics. Questions in Physics were formula based and concept based.
• Revise the whole NCERT for Chemistry.
• For Maths, go through the previous year question papers. Many questions come from the previous year paper in Maths.

• Candidates must carry their JEE Main session 1 admit card on A4 size paper
• They must carry one passport-size photograph (same as uploaded with the application form) to be pasted on the attendance sheet
• A valid Photo ID Proof original (PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E- Aadhaar/Ration Card/12th Class admit card 
• PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming the relaxation under the PwD category
• If a candidate goes for bio-break /toilet, they should undergo the mandatory frisking and biometrics again
• Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided. Candidates must write their name and roll number at the top of each of the sheets.
• They must drop the sheets in the designated drop box without fail, before leaving the exam hall
• The candidate should ensure that the question paper available on the computer screen is as per their opted subject/medium. In case, the subject/medium of the question paper is other than their opted subject/medium, the same may be brought to the notice of the Invigilator concerned

• Candidates must not carry Instrument/ Geometry/ Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or written material), Eatables and Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Ear Phone/ Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, to wear/carry any type of watch including Electronic watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in exam hall. 

NTA has changed the pattern of the JEE Mains 2025 exam for all three papers - Paper 1 (BE/BTech), Paper 2A (BArch) and Paper 2B (BPlan). As per the new pattern, section B of the JEE Main exam 2025 for Paper 1 will not have optional questions. There will be only 5 questions per subject and students must answer all 5 questions. Similarly, in Papers 2A and 2B, there will be no optional questions in the Mathematics section.

Registration for the JEE Main 2025 session 2 exams will start on January 31. The April session exam will be held between April 1 to 8.

Today marks the start of JEE Main 2025 paper 1 examination. The shift 1 exam will start at 9 am and the shift 2 will begin at 3 pm.

The JEE Main 2025 day 1 shift 1 exam will start at 9 am today. The exam will end at 12 noon.

Frisking is a search of a person's outer clothing wherein a person runs their hands along the outer garments of another to detect any concealed objects. Frisking will be done at the entry gates of the JEE Main exam centre and also after each toilet/bio-break that the candidate takes during the exam.

• PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority is to be carried by the candidates if claiming the relaxation under the PwD category. Candidates with Physical Disability are requested to report early for facilitation during entry.
• A PwD candidate (having a physical limitation to write) who will be availing the facility of Scribe will be allowed Compensatory/ Extra time of 20 minutes per hour of the examination, whether such candidate uses the facility of Scribe or not.
• The facility of the Scribe, in case he/she has a physical limitation and a scribe is essential to write the examination on his/her behalf, being so certified in the prescribed format by a CMO/Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution.
• The facility of Scribe will be provided to the PwD candidates only if he has opted for the same in the online JEE Main 2025 application form.
• The candidate will have the discretion of opting for his own Scribe or to avail the facility of Scribe provided by the NTA. Appropriate choice in this regard has been given by the candidate in the online application form. 

Candidates must reach the exam centre for the shift 1 exam by 8:30 am. After 8:30 am, no candidate will be allowed to enter the JEE Main 2025 exam centre.

Last year, the high-weightage topics in physics in JEE Main were Kinematics, SHM, Work, Power & Energy, Gravitation, Laws of Motion,  Rotational Motion, EM Waves, Magnetism, Wave Optics, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic Induction, AC Circuits, Modern Physics, Atoms & Nuclei.

As per last year's exam analysis of JEE Main, the high-weightage topics were: Calculus & Algebra, Matrices -2 ques, 3 D Geometry & Vectors, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Complex Numbers, Statistics, Progressions, Quadratic Equations, Composite Functions, Limits, Continuity & Differentiability, Application of Derivative, Definite Integrals, Differential Equations, Area, Straight Line, Circle, Ellipse amongst Conic Sections.

The self-declaration form is made available to the candidates with the JEE Main 2025 admit card. Candidates have to download it with the issued admit card and fill in the details on it. Print copy of the admit card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) must be carried to the exam centre.

There are no official instructions about the dress code to be followed for the JEE Main 2025 exam. However, candidates must take care of some points to avoid issues during the checking process at the JEE Main exam centres.

JEE Advanced 2025 exam date is May 18 and the registrations will begin on April 23.

It is not compulsory to take the colour printout of JEE Main admit card (a clear printout on A4 size paper) to the exam centre. As per the official notice, candidates have to carry a print copy of the admit card along with the Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA Website duly filled in. There is no instruction about the colour of the print out to be taken.

JEE Mains 2025 registration for session 2 will start on January 31 and will be available until February 24, 2025.

The JEE Main 2025 April attempt will be held from April 1 to 8, 2025. The exact exam dates will be announced by NTA later on.

The JEE Main 2025 exam today will start at 9 am. Shift 1 will end at 12 noon and the shift 2 will begin at 3 pm.

The JEE Main 2025 question paper will be in both English and the language opted for by the candidate. The English version of the question paper will prevail in the event of any difference of opinion.

The candidates who will appear for the JEE Main 2025 January 22 exam must ensure that the QR Code and the barcode are available on the admit card while downloading and printing. The JEE Main 2025 January session shift 1 exam will commence at 09:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 noon. Shift 2 for today is scheduled to start at 03:00 PM and finish at 06:00 PM.

The candidates who have been allotted the JEE Main 2025 January 22 shift 1 exam slot, have to report for the exam between 7 am to 8:30 am for entry in the exam centre, frisking, biometric registration/record of manual attendance by Invigilator, document verification/crosschecking of Admit Card, signature, and photo match to be completed by Invigilator, etc.

While going for the exam they must check the JEE Main dress code that has been given below:

• They should wear comfortable, simple, and light clothing. Avoid wearing clothes with large pockets, zippers, or elaborate designs.
• While entering the exam centre lose the scarves, mufflers or beanies. 
• Shoes with thick soles and slippers are discouraged. Opt for open-toed sandals or slippers.
• Avoid wearing accessories such as jewellery, hairbands, or other items that could be seen as a distraction or hinder the frisking process.
