JEE MAIN NEWS

In a live interaction, the Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced that the exam dates for the national level competitive exam - JEE Main are July 18-23. Earlier, the MHRD tweeted that JEE Main 2020 exam for April session is likely to be held in June due to the COVID-19 outbreak and lockdown across the country.

Multiple postponements of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main exam dates have created disarray in the academic schedule of various National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other colleges across India as most of them consider JEE Main scores to provide admission in their colleges/institutes. Also, most of them release cutoff based on the JEE Main ranks.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had earlier decided to conduct the JEE Main Exam 2020 April exam on April 5,7,8 and 11 which was later on rescheduled to the last week of May. Once, the final dates are announced for the JEE Main 2020 April Exam, the date for JEE Main Admit Card 2020 download will also be updated on the official website.

JEE Main entrance exam is the gateway for admission to NITs, Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and CFTIs. Students who qualify the JEE Main 2020 and will secure a place among top 2.5 lakh score holders will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced for admission to various undergraduate engineering courses (BE/BTech) offered by IITs in India. The counselling process and seat allotment for all the institutes will be organized and managed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
