This collaboration aims to align drone education with industry demands, providing cutting-edge drone pilot training and technology expertise.

Kaveri University has partnered with Marut Drone Academy to launch a new drone academy in Siddipet. This collaboration aims to align drone education with industry demands, providing cutting-edge drone pilot training and technology expertise.

The academy, spread across 15,300 square meters with four dedicated flying zones, will offer comprehensive drone pilot training and industry-specific skill development programs. Targeting rural youth from Tier II and III regions, the initiative will also support women through the Namo Drone Didi scheme, aiming to train 15,000 women in agricultural drone applications like fertilizer spraying and crop monitoring, creating new livelihood opportunities.

The facility aims to train over 1,000 drone pilots annually, offering specialized courses in agriculture, such as Agri Spraying, Drone Agri Analytics, and Drone Repair & Maintenance. Kaveri University will collaborate with NABARD, Farmer Producer Organizations, and NGOs to promote drone technology adoption in Telangana’s rural areas.

Dr. Velchala Praveen Rao, Vice Chancellor of Kaveri University, emphasized the institution’s commitment to empowering rural youth and farmers with drone technology, stating that Kaveri University is the first private institution in Telangana to have DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training.

Sai Kumar Chintala, CEO of Marut Drone Academy, highlighted the growing demand for skilled drone pilots, with the drone industry expected to create numerous job opportunities in rural areas. He noted that individuals could recover the cost of training within 3-4 months, and remote pilot certification is mandatory under DGCA Drone Rules 2021 for commercial drone operators.

The partnership aims to bridge the skills gap in drone technology, offering modern facilities, hands-on training, and employment assistance for graduates. Marut Drone Academy, in collaboration with key agricultural and aviation institutions, is dedicated to scaling up drone education and addressing the unique needs of rural areas by providing training in regional languages like Telugu.

The initiative is poised to drive local economic development, creating jobs and fostering entrepreneurship, particularly in the agriculture sector, where the demand for drone technology is rapidly increasing.
