KCET 2024: KEA Forms Committee To Look into out of Syllabus Questions in Exam

Karnataka CET 2024 was held on April 18 and 19 for four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. More than 3 lakh students appeared for KCET 2024 across the State. After the exam, students reported that several questions from the papers were allegedly out of the syllabus of CET.
Many students, lecturers, and parents voiced their protests against the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for including "out-of-syllabus" questions in KCET 2024. Following this, the state government formed a committee for each subject to review the concerns.

The KEA has also been asked to submit a detailed report in this regard to the government. Additionally, the government also announced that KEA would allow students to submit their objections to the KCET questions until April 27, 2024.
As per IE reports, a statement issued by the higher education department on Monday said, βIn the meantime, the matter has been examined by the government and a committee of experts for each subject has been set up by the government to ascertain the number of questions that are out of the syllabus of CET. The expert committee has been mandated to provide its report immediately.β
Out of Syllabus Questions in KCET 2024
Many KCET candidates complained that nearly 45 questions across four subjects were out of the syllabus. A minimum of 10 questions in biology, 11 in mathematics, 9 in physics and 15 in chemistry were out of the syllabus.
The KCET is an entrance exam used for admissions to various professional courses such as engineering technology, Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm), Diploma in Pharmacy (DPharma), agricultural courses (farm science), and veterinary courses.
