KCET 2025 Likely to be Conducted in Computer-Based Mode; Major Changes Expected in Syllabus
KCET 2025: KEA is planning to introduce major changes in KCET including shifting from offline to online mode soon. An expert committee will also revise the syllabus and exam pattern. Know details here
KCET 2025: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is planning to revamp the Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (UGCET), commonly known as KCET. It is expected that from 2025, KCET will be conducted in computer-based mode. Apart from that, major changes are expected in KCET 2025 syllabus that will be implemented starting from the year 2025.
Predicting the forthcoming changes, candidates are awaiting an official announcement from KEA. Recognising the importance of this effort, KEA intends to form an expert committee tasked with overseeing the modification process. This committee is expected to comprise academicians, subject matter experts, and professionals with extensive experience in curriculum development and assessment methodologies.
Major Changes Expected in KCET 2025 Syllabus
At present, the KCET syllabus is primarily based on pre-university NCERT textbooks, resulting in gaps in coverage for certain subjects. Contrarily, the PGCET syllabus is sourced from engineering courses. Consequently, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has approved for an update to the KCET syllabus, urging inclusion of these omitted subjects. In response, the KCET 2025 syllabi are set to undergo revision to align with the introduction of new courses in technical education. Notably, the last revision of the KCET syllabus occurred in 2009.
As per media reports, earlier a notification was issued stating that CET, PG CET, and DCET would be conducted concurrently. This delay is attributed to technical reasons and the need for adequate preparation for online examinations.
