The admission process for Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to begin online from August 1. Check where and how to apply.

The admission process for Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) will start from August 1 and the candidates can apply online. While talking about the admission, Maharashtra Skill Development Minister Nawab Malik said that the process will be conducted in a centralised manner online this year owing to the coronavirus situation in the state. Students can fill the applications online on the official website of DVET; i.e. dvet.gov.in.

"All the information about when ITIs will reopen will be shared later keeping in mind the lockdown-related government rules. For now, only the admission process will be initiated online," he said. The candidates who have failed the SSC Exams will also be allowed to apply for admission to ITIs. A candidate who has this minimum educational qualification or higher than that and is above 14 years of age can apply.

Earlier, the state Directorate of Technical Education had directed all the ITIs in the state to develop an admission app to help students apply to colleges and institutes from home. The ITIs were set to begin the admissions after the SSC Results are announced in the state. Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) had announced the Maharashtra SSC Results 2020 on July 29. The overall pass percentage this year is 95.30. Konkan region recorded the best performance in the SSC results Maharashtra with 98.77 per cent pass percentage.
