Manipal Institute of Technology and Altair Join Forces for Cutting-edge Mechatronics Education and Research

The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), affiliated with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Altair, located in Bangalore. This collaboration seeks to redefine excellence in engineering education and research, concentrating on the rapidly expanding sector of mechatronic systems.

Altair, a global leader in simulation, high-performance computing, and artificial intelligence (AI), joins hands with MIT to fuse industry-leading technological prowess with academic excellence.

The partnership is intended to enhance the educational and research experiences for both students and faculty by offering access to cutting-edge software solutions and educational programs provided by Altair. This effort aims to facilitate hands-on learning in the areas of design, analysis, and optimization processes related to mechatronics.

Training Program from March 4 to 8, 2024

A key component of this partnership is the training program on “Design of High-Performance Mechatronic Systems using Altair's Simulation and Artificial Intelligence Platform,” scheduled from March 4 to 8, 2024. This program seeks to upgrade knowledge in the design and development of mechatronics systems, touching upon critical areas such as AI-assisted simulation, IIOT, and digital twins. Mr. Sushil Mane, representing Altair as the chief guest, alongside Mr. Ranjith Kumar H. S. and Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Rana, highlighted the significance of this collaboration in preparing students for the future challenges of engineering.

MIT and Altair have both expressed excitement about their collaboration, highlighting its ability to bridge the divide between academic learning and practical application in the industry significantly. This partnership represents more than just an effort to improve the calibre of engineering education; it's also a pivotal step in preparing students and faculty to spearhead innovation and address intricate issues within the mechatronics domain.
