NIF Hosts IISF Outreach Event Engaging 500 Young Minds in Science Exploration

The National Innovation Foundation (NIF) - India, an autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, organized an IISF outreach event in Amarapur, Gandhinagar, on October 17, 2024. Nearly 500 students aged 14-18 participated in the program. The India International Science Festival (IISF) celebrates the nation's scientific achievements annually, fostering collaboration and innovation. As part of the 10th edition of IISF, public institutions across the country are hosting a series of outreach activities.

The 10th edition of IISF will unite scientists, industry leaders, students, and the public to explore the transformative impact of science, fostering discussions that will shape India’s future as a global leader in science and technology. During the outreach program, students were introduced to the origins of IISF, its journey since 2015, key achievements along the way, and details about the upcoming IISF 2024.

He further elaborated on the mission of IISF 2024: "A Prosperous Bharat in Harmony with Modern Infrastructure and Nature, Creating Opportunities for All Citizens Across Regions to Reach Their Potential through Science and Technology." The vision of transforming India into a global manufacturing hub driven by science and technology was also highlighted.

He encouraged students to contact NIF for any queries and assistance in participating in programs like the Student Science Village and requested the media to help spread the message. Dr. Madhvi Joshi, Joint Director of Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC), DST, Government of Gujarat, also urged students to actively participate in the upcoming IISF. Shri Jignesh Borisagar, Prant Secretary of VIBHA, and Shri Amrutbhai Patel, Director-Trustee of Grambharti Sanstha, were also present at the event.
