NIT Calicut Placements 2022 also recorded a significant surge in the highest salary offered to students.

NIT Calicut Placements 2022: Despite several pandemic-related disruptions caused in the job market, the National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NIT-C) witnessed an overwhelming response from the recruiters. NIT Calicut has set an all-time record in campus placement in the first phase of the placement season for the graduating batch of 2022.

Nearly 1,000 students secured job offers

The first phase of NIT Calicut placements 2022 witnessed as many as 950 students securing job offers. This is 70% higher than the 568 students placed during the same period during 2020- 21.

The placement season also recorded a significant surge in the highest salary offered to students. Participation of recruiters in NIT-C placements also increased compared to past years.

Highest salary of INR 67.6 lakh per annum offered

Four students from the computer science and engineering department bagged the highest salary offer of INR 67.6 lakh per annum as opposed to the highest CTC of Rs 43 lakh last year. All the four job offers came from Traceable AI, a leading application security firm.

The average salary offered to students stood at INR 13 lakh per annum, which is two lakh more than the INR 11 lakh per annum last year.

According to the Chairperson of the centre for career development, NIT-C, Dr Sajith V, two-month training programme provided by the institute to students during the summer vacation is one of the key factors that helped in securing solid placements.

"The completely online mode of the recruitment process during the time of the pandemic was successfully leveraged by the institute. Moreover, the renewed thrust towards digitization of the activities by the firms during the pandemic could be one of the reasons for the higher job and internship opportunities for the students," he said.

First-time recruiters such as Traceable AI, Mercedes Benz, Ola Mobility, Adani Enterprises Ltd, among others participated in the placements drive.
