NIT Hamirpur gets INR 41 lakh grant for e-waste management project
The e-waste management project under the Swachhata Action Plan of the Ministry of Education aims at developing a scalable small-scale business model for e-waste management through a deep learning system and creating a market chain in the NIT.
The Centre for Energy Studies of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur has received a grant of INR 41 lakh for the e-waste management project under the Swachhata Action Plan of the Ministry of Education.
Mamta Awasthi, principal investigator of the project, said the project aims at developing a scalable small-scale business model for e-waste management through a deep learning system and creating a market chain in the NIT.
NIT Hamirpur, SJVN join hands to work on R&D
NIT Hamirpur recently organised its 13th convocation wherein a total of 1,172 degrees were awarded to graduating students. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), presided over the event as the chief guest. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between SJVN and NIT Hamirpur for setting up SJVN Chair Professorship for taking up research and development (R&D) activities in power development.
As part of the MoU, SJVN contributed INR 40 lakh for setting up SJVN Chair Professorship at the institute. He said SJVN is proactive and open to collaborate for any research project by students of NIT Hamirpur in the field of hydro, solar, wind, consultancy, green hydrogen, etc.
