NIT Jalandhar PhD Admission: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jalandhar has started the application process for PhD programme under the Visvesvaraya PhD scheme phase II round III. Interested candidates can fill up the NIT Jalandhar PhD admission 2024 application form online at the official website: nitj.ac.in. As per the notification, the last date to fill up the application form of NIT Jalandhar PhD admission is March 11, 2024.
The selection of candidates will be determined by their GATE score. However, being shortlisted does not guarantee admission to the PhD programme. Final admission will depend entirely on the candidate's performance in the "presentation and interaction" session, as well as the availability of a Supervisor in the candidate's intended research area.

Who are eligible for NIT Jalandhar PhD Admission 2024?
Those interested must have a Master’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in the corresponding research field, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in a suitable branch of Engineering/Technology. They should have achieved either a first-class distinction or a minimum of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale) in the qualifying examination. Also, the GATE score is mandatory.
Further, those with a B.Tech, B.E., or BS (4-year) degree with a CGPA of 8.5 or higher on a 10-point scale, or an 80% aggregate from a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI), are also eligible for direct Ph.D. admission. These candidates must have qualified for GATE. They will be required to complete 24 credit courses before taking the comprehensive examination.
NIT Jalandhar PhD Fellowship
The candidates admitted will be eligible for fellowship disbursed by the Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme Phase II's rules, sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), alongside other directives provided by MeitY. The project will span five years or conclude upon project completion, whichever comes first.
