NIT-K Placements 2022: 96.9% BTech students placed
Out of the total 1,608 undergraduate and postgraduate candidates, 1,385 have been placed. The number of companies visiting the campus has doubled. Last year it was 278, and this year the number of companies that visited the campus has crossed 450 including both IT-based and core companies.
NIT Surathkal Placements 2022: National Institute of Technology Surathkal witnessed the placement of 86.1% of its students this year. NIT-K Placements 2022 recorded 96.9% recruitment in the BTech courses alone. Amid the ongoing pandemic, the last two years have been dull in recruitment, according to recruiters. Placement drives were conducted online considering the safety protocol laid down by the government against the COVID-19 spread.

“The recruitment process has picked up well across the country, due to the situation improving across the globe, resulting in better placement of our candidates,” said S Srihari, chairman, Career Development Centre, NITK Surathkal.
Number of recruiters doubled
He further told TOI that in the last placement year of 2020-21, the overall placement percentage at NIT-K stood at 72.6%. This year, BTech courses had a placement record of 96.9%. Out of the total 1,608 undergraduate and postgraduate candidates, 1,385 have been placed. The number of companies visiting the campus has doubled. NIT-K placements received highest pay package of INR 45 Lakh
The institute also recorded an increase in pre-placement offers, with 214 candidates getting placed in 57 companies. The highest pay package this season stood at INR 45 lakh, and the minimum package is around INR 3.7 lakh.
CDC trains students in skill development and resume building and conducts workshops. Placement coordinators available under CDC help candidates compete in their respective areas. This year, we are putting more effort on international and PhD placements, Srihari told TOI.
NITK Surathkal witnessed the participation of reputed private and public sector companies such as Microsoft, DE Shaw, Uber, Arcesium, Amazon, Oracle, Google India, IOCL, BPCL, GAIL, BEL, BEML, CDOT and CDAC.
