Oracle and the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) have introduced a skills development program as part of the state’s extensive skill enhancement initiative, Naan Mudhalvan. This initiative aims to deliver employment-oriented skills training to over 200,000 students across Tamil Nadu. TNSDC has partnered with Oracle to provide Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) training, enabling students in the state to accelerate their career prospects.
In 2024, over 200,000 young individuals at various stages of their educational and professional journeys will undergo training and certification in cutting-edge technologies offered by Oracle. These technologies include cloud computing, data science, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and blockchain, as part of a new skilling initiative. Since its inception, the program has attracted more than 60,000 students from diverse disciplines such as engineering, arts, and sciences, hailing from over 900 colleges throughout the state.
"Tamil Nadu ranks among one of India’s top 12 states with a growing youth population. As part of our responsibility to provide youth and young professionals with a platform to upskill themselves and achieve their career goals, we launched Naan Mudhalvan,” said Tmt J. Innocent Divya, managing director, of Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation.
Teachers and academicians will integrate the training into the campus curriculum. The modules will be accessible through Oracle MyLearn, a robust training and empowerment platform from Oracle University widely utilized by numerous learners globally. Additional training modules will be tailored to individual learning stages and educational objectives. The initiative aims to equip participants, both students and professionals, with essential skills in cloud computing and comprehensive insights into pivotal domains like AI, ML, data science, and blockchain.
“We are delighted to collaborate with the Tamil Nadu government and make a significant contribution towards the advancement of India's digital economy. Oracle’s Skills Development Initiative is designed to offer solutions to support government institutions, providing candidate training and job placement assistance to ensure the next generation of tech leaders receive the best possible education and support,” said Shailender Kumar, senior vice president and regional managing director, Oracle India and NetSuite JAPAC.
